Our History
The Laguna Lake Model Yacht Club is an informal association of radio control sailors open to all. We sail at Laguna Lake, San Luis Obispo, year round on Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting at 8am, wind and weather permitting. If you are interested in trying out radio controlled sailing, simply show up on one of our sailing days. We would be happy to introduce you to our sport. The San Luis Obispo Parks Department allows us to keep our race course buoys permanently in place so they are always available and we sail by the rules of the Americas Cup. Contact: Howard Grisham (tosandynhoward@hotmail.com) for more information. We sail CR914s, a one design class, 1/25th scale 1980s Americas Cup Boat. There is a class website at www.cr914class.com If you are interested in purchasing a CR914 go to “Chesapeake Performance Models” https://rcyachts.com/cr914home.htm on the web for information on a kit to build yourself or a complete, ready to sail, CR914.
